DST - Lockheed Martin India Innovation Growth Programme 2013 award ceremony was held on 2nd May at 11:00 A.M. at Federation House, New Delhi organized by FICCI jointly with the Department of Science and Technology; Indo-US S&T Forum, Lockheed Martin Corporation, Stanford Graduate School of Business and the IC2 Institute, University of Texas at Austin. In this ceremony, 30 breathtaking innovations was announced and felicitated with certificate and medal by Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Deputy Chairman, Planning Commission along with officials from Department of Science and Technology, Lockheed Martin, University of Texas and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). 220 innovators have been supported so far under the programme and generated an economic value of Rs. 1500 crores last seven years.
The programme received almost 1500 applications from different sectors like clean energy, agriculture, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, engineering, Biotechnology, and others. Fifty technologies were short listed in the initial phase and given week-long intensive training on product commercialization, market research, business models, IP rights, licensing and mechanisms for revenue by eminent faculties from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
